Wyndham Hotel

The Wyndham Santa Monica at the Pier is a hotel owned by JLL and RLJ Lodging Trust and is located in California. In collaboration with our partnering firm, JMC2, Sensequake performed a full seismic evaluation of the hotel based on the patented seismic evaluation methodology and sensing data obtained through our wireless Larzé technology.
This provided the owner with the building’s seismic performance without the need for any finite element models or detailed structural drawings, the damage level estimates for over 150 components throughout the building, and located the seismic risk to optimize future retrofits of the building.
The information provided was compared to previous seismic studies done on the building. Obtaining the real properties and the seismic demands from the sensing-based approach acted as a peer review, and helped the owner make informed decisions regarding rehabilitation.
Sensequake’s rapid testing and patented evaluation technology help to better manage real-estate portfolios and greatly reduce the costs of seismic retrofits.
